How long do brake pads last in Dubai?
Front pads often last somewhere between 30,000 and 50,000 km in UAE city driving, and rear pads usually outlast them. Heavy traffic, frequent hard stops and large SUVs push that toward the lower end. The technician measures what is left on the pads, so you replace them on condition rather than on a guess.
Do I need new brake discs as well?
Only if the discs are below their minimum thickness, deeply scored, or warped enough to send a vibration through the pedal. Many cars get two sets of pads per set of discs, although some European models are designed to have both changed together. You see the measurement before any extra part is fitted.
Can brake pads really be changed in a car park?
Yes. Pad replacement needs a jack, axle stands and hand tools, so a villa driveway or a building car park with room around the car works well. If the inspection turns up a seized caliper or a leaking brake line, the job moves to a partner workshop and you are told before anything changes.
