Blue Dynamic
Everyday sedans and hatchbacks without start-stop
The German battery that leaves the factory inside many European cars
Varta is a German car battery brand owned by Clarios, and it is the factory-fitted battery in a long list of European models. In the UAE it is the like-for-like choice for Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen owners, especially when the car needs an AGM or EFB battery for start-stop. Drivers of Japanese and Korean cars also pick it when they want a sturdier flooded battery than the budget options.
Varta grew out of a German accumulator works founded in 1887, and the Varta name has been on batteries since the early 1900s. The automotive side was bought by Johnson Controls in 2002 and became part of Clarios when that business was spun off in 2019, so the Varta household batteries you see in supermarkets come from a separate company. For car owners the point is simple: German carmakers design their charging systems around batteries like Varta AGM, which is why our technicians often fit the same brand that came out of the car. With registration done on the diagnostic tool afterwards, the car charges the new battery exactly as it did the original.

Varta copes well with Gulf summers when the right type goes in the right place. Boot-mounted Silver Dynamic AGM batteries in German saloons often outlast engine-bay batteries by a full season because they sit away from radiator heat, while a flooded Blue Dynamic under a hot bonnet in Dubai traffic will age faster than its European rating suggests.

Yes, provided you match the type to the car. AGM and Silver Dynamic models handle sustained heat and heavy AC loads better than the basic Blue Dynamic. Expect the best life when the battery sits in the boot or under the floor rather than beside the engine.
Varta car batteries are made by Clarios, the company that grew out of Johnson Controls' battery division. They are not made by VARTA AG, which produces household and hearing-aid batteries under the same name. The plant that built your battery is shown on its label.
Look for the production code laser-printed or heat-stamped on the lid or the side of the case. The format differs between plants, so our technician decodes it and shows you before fitting. A battery that has sat on a shelf for many months in a warm store loses charge, so we fit fresh stock.
Most BMWs and many Mercedes-Benz models need the new battery registered so the charging system knows it is new and what type it is. Skipping it can shorten the life of an expensive AGM noticeably. Our technicians do the registration on site with a diagnostic tool as part of the car battery replacement.
The nearest technician is usually 20–35 minutes away, day or night, across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
