Which AC gas does my car use?
Older cars mostly use R134a, while many newer models use R1234yf. The type and quantity are printed on a label under the bonnet, and the technician checks it before connecting anything.
Will a gas top-up fix my AC for good?
Only when the leak is very slow. If the system has lost most of its gas, the leak check shows where it escapes, and a repair such as a new O-ring, hose or condenser is what stops it happening again.
Can AC gas be filled in a basement car park?
In most buildings, yes. The engine has to run with the AC on for several minutes, so a ventilated basement bay or a ground-level spot works best, and we check your building's rules with you beforehand.
