Nissan battery replacement in Dubai
Nissan batteries in the UAE do two very different jobs: the Patrol Y62 runs a 5.6-litre V8 with heavy electrical demand, while Sunny, Altima and Sentra cars clock long hours in taxi, rental and delivery fleets. Both wear batteries out faster than the label suggests, usually within two to three summers. Our mobile team carries Nissan JIS sizes and can test, boost or replace the battery wherever the car is parked.

Nissan batteries: notes from our technicians
- 01
The Patrol Y62 uses a large D31-family battery and carries many electronic modules, a powerful AC system and often aftermarket accessories, so capacity and cranking amps should never be downsized.
- 02
Many Nissans from around 2013 onward have a battery current sensor on the negative cable that lets the engine computer vary alternator output, and it must be refitted correctly on the new battery.
- 03
Sunny, Sentra and Kicks generally use compact JIS sizes in the B24 to D23 range, which leave little reserve for long idling with the AC running.
- 04
Older Patrol Y61 Super Safari owners who run winches, roof lights or fridges often fit a heavy-duty battery or add a second auxiliary battery.
Reading a Japanese (JIS) battery code
Most Japanese cars use JIS-sized batteries with codes like 55D23L or 80D26R. The code tells you everything the technician needs.
- The first number is a performance rank, not the Ah. Higher means more starting power.
- The letter (B, D, E…) is the width and height class of the case.
- The next two digits are the length in centimetres.
- L or R tells you which side the positive terminal sits on. Getting it wrong means the cables will not reach.
A Patrol Y62 left for two or three weeks in summer, especially in an open car park, can drain to the point where it will not crank, because its modules and alarm keep drawing current while the heat speeds up self-discharge.

Nissan battery questions
Question not here? Send a message and a technician answers, not a bot.
What battery does a Nissan Patrol Y62 take?
The Patrol Y62 typically uses a large JIS D31-family flooded battery of around 90–105Ah under the bonnet. Owners who run extra lights or a fridge sometimes upgrade to a heavy-duty model, and the technician confirms the fit from your current battery.
How should a Nissan with a battery current sensor be jump started?
Connect the negative jump lead to a bare metal earth point on the engine or body rather than straight to the battery negative terminal, so the current sensor is not bypassed. Our technicians use this method on every Nissan battery jump start.
How often does a Nissan Sunny battery need replacing in Dubai?
A Sunny used for daily commuting usually needs a new battery every two to three years in UAE heat, and taxi or delivery cars can need one sooner. Slow cranking in the morning and dimming lights at idle are the usual early signs.
How long does a Nissan battery last in the UAE?
In UAE conditions a Nissan battery typically lasts 2–3 years. Heat, short trips and long periods parked shorten that, so we recommend a test once the battery passes two years.
Nissan battery flat?
The nearest technician is usually 20–35 minutes away, day or night, across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
