Why is alignment done after suspension work?
Fitting new arms, tie rod ends or struts shifts the wheel angles slightly. Setting the alignment afterwards stops the car pulling and saves the tyres from uneven wear.
Does desert driving wear out suspension faster?
Dune runs and corrugated tracks put heavy loads through the shocks and bushes, and fine sand works its way into rubber boots. If you go off-road regularly, have the suspension looked at every few months.
Do shock absorbers have to be replaced in pairs?
Yes, front pair or rear pair. A new shock on one side with a tired one on the other makes the car lean and brake unevenly.
