A car battery in the UAE usually lasts two to three years, against four to five in cooler countries. These are the six causes we see every day.
Under the bonnet in July it can pass 70°C. Heat speeds up grid corrosion and dries the electrolyte, which is why batteries here often last half as long as in Europe.
A ten-minute run to the supermarket with the AC on full takes more out of the battery than the alternator can put back. Do that daily and it slowly runs down.
Alarms, trackers and control modules draw power with the car locked. Three or four weeks in a hot car park is often enough to flatten a battery that was already tired.
A flooded battery in a start-stop car, or a smaller Ah rating to save money, wears out in months. So does a new battery on a German car that was never registered.
A weak alternator, a slipping belt or a bad earth strap undercharges the battery. Replacing the battery without checking these just repeats the failure.
White or green crust on the terminals adds resistance, so the starter gets less current. It looks like a dead battery and is sometimes fixed with a clean and tighten.

Yes, most of our jobs in Dubai Marina, JLT, Downtown and Business Bay are in basements. Send the building name, parking level and bay number, and register us as a visitor if the building asks for it.

We take it with us and pass it to a licensed lead-acid recycler. Old batteries hold lead and acid, so they should never go in normal waste.
