N-Series light trucks run a 24V system built from two 12V batteries in series, so both are tested and normally replaced as a pair.

Constant vibration on rough site roads loosens hold-downs and damages internal plates, so we check the clamp and tray every time.

Trucks that idle with the AC on between deliveries rarely get a full recharge, which slowly sulphates a flooded battery.
Reading a Japanese (JIS) battery code
Most Japanese cars use JIS-sized batteries with codes like 55D23L or 80D26R. The code tells you everything the technician needs.
- The first number is a performance rank, not the Ah. Higher means more starting power.
- The letter (B, D, E…) is the width and height class of the case.
- The next two digits are the length in centimetres.
- L or R tells you which side the positive terminal sits on. Getting it wrong means the cables will not reach.
Replacing only one of the two batteries on an N-Series truck is a common shortcut, and the older battery then drags the new one down within months.

Why do Isuzu N-Series trucks have two batteries?
They use a 24V electrical system, made by connecting two 12V batteries in series to crank the diesel engine and run the truck equipment. Because the pair works as one unit, a weak battery overloads the good one, so we replace them together.
Can you replace batteries for our whole Isuzu fleet at our yard?
Yes. We test every vehicle on site, replace only the batteries that fail and hand over a list by plate number so you can plan the next round. Visits can be arranged outside working hours so trucks are ready for the morning shift.
Which battery suits a D-Max that runs a fridge or power tools?
A higher-capacity flooded battery with strong reserve capacity handles the extra load better than a standard one, as long as it still fits the tray. For heavy accessory use, an auxiliary battery with its own charger is the longer-term answer.
