Does a Skoda need battery coding?
Skodas with start-stop need the new battery coded so the energy management system charges it correctly. Our technician codes it on site with a diagnostic tool as part of the replacement.
Can I fit a regular battery to my Skoda Octavia?
Only if your Octavia has no start-stop; otherwise it needs an EFB or AGM battery matching the original. A regular flooded battery in a start-stop Octavia wears out quickly and can disable the function.
