Where is the battery in a Volvo XC90?
On the current-generation XC90 the main battery sits under the boot floor and is reached by lifting the cargo floor panels. Our technician works from the boot, so the car can stay in a tight basement bay.
What happens if a new Volvo battery is not registered?
The car keeps charging as if the old, worn battery were still fitted, which can overcharge the new AGM and shorten its life. Start-stop may also stay unavailable. Registration takes a few minutes with a diagnostic tool and is part of our fitting.
Do I need to replace the Volvo support battery too?
Only if it tests weak. The support battery ages alongside the main one, so on cars more than four or five years old it often fails around the same time. We test both and tell you which one is actually at fault.
How long does a Volvo battery last in the UAE?
In UAE conditions a Volvo battery typically lasts 3–4 years. Heat, short trips and long periods parked shorten that, so we recommend a test once the battery passes two years.
