The GS8 and GA8 are large vehicles with 2.0 turbo engines and usually take a battery of around 70 to 80Ah.

The GS3 Emzoom and GA4 have smaller 1.5-litre engines and use batteries in the 45 to 60Ah range.

GS8 hybrid versions need the 12V battery to boot the hybrid system, so they can refuse to start even with fuel and hybrid charge available.
Batteries in newer Chinese brands
Chinese brands are new to many UAE drivers, but their 12V batteries follow familiar DIN or JIS sizes. What matters is matching the exact size and terminal layout.

- Plug-in hybrids and EVs still rely on a 12V battery to wake the car up.
- Some models use lithium iron phosphate (LFP) 12V units that need a matching replacement.

Which battery fits a GAC GS8?
A GAC GS8 usually takes a DIN-format battery of around 70 to 80Ah, with EFB on versions that have start-stop. The technician confirms size and polarity from the label before fitting.
Does a GAC need a special battery for start-stop?
Yes, GAC models with automatic start-stop should get an EFB or AGM battery, because a basic flooded unit wears out fast under repeated restarts. The technician checks whether your car has the function before recommending a type.
